Windsor Index (https://windsorindex.ca) is a local rankings site for Windsor, Ontario. This policy explains what we collect and why. By using the site, you agree to it.
What we collect
When you create an account: we receive your email and, if you use Google, your name and account identifier (via Supabase) so you can upvote businesses. Email/password accounts store a hashed password with Supabase, not on our servers.
When you vote: we store which business you voted for and when, so weekly, monthly, and yearly rankings work.
When you contact us: we store what you send on the contact form (name, email, and message).
When you submit a place: we store the business and contact details you provide, any photos or menu files you upload, and your consent choices. Listings are reviewed before they appear on the site.
Analytics: Google Analytics helps us see general traffic (pages visited, etc.) and may use cookies.
How we use and share it
We use this information only to run Windsor Index — rankings, sign-in, reviewing submissions, and improving the site. We do not sell your data. It is shared with our hosting, database, auth, and analytics providers as needed to operate the site. Published business profiles may include address, hours, and contact information you or an admin provide.
